Never have I ever wanted to live in a fictional town the way I want to live in Dream Harbor. Laurie Gilmore has a way of making every detail & every side character stand out in a way that makes the setting feel so real to the reader. I was so excited to go back to this town for the latest book in the series.
I’m so glad I got to learn more about Iris after getting a bit of her in the last book. She is the queen of the gig economy & her bubbly attitude & loyalty to her community is everything to me.
I quickly fell in love with Archer & his daughter, Olive when Iris is hired as her nanny. A tough, grouchy chef on the exterior turned out to be a pretty sweet guy with his daughter wrapped around his finger. I liked that I got to see three relationships form in this book: Iris & Archer, Archer & Olive, & Olive & Iris.
I really enjoyed the plot of this book & the couple that came out of it, but I found the pacing to be a bit odd at times. It felt certain plot points, even those that were expected, showed up somewhat randomly from time to time.
Take a trip to Dream Harbor if you haven’t already. You won’t regret it.
